Dales Cottage
Burnham Thorpe • Sleeps 4 • Dogs welcome
Experience traditional country living in this quaint bolthole that's ideal for couples or a family of four. Located in Burnham Thorpe, the birthplace of Admiral Lord Nelson, on a quiet Norfolk back lane you will find this much-loved, peaceful retreat that has been well cared for by the owner's family for over three decades. Mixing country living with comfort, Dales Cottage is ideal for escaping the stresses of modern life, whilst taking in the fabulous North Norfolk coast and countryside that surrounds it.

Idyllically placed just 1 mile from the bustling village of Burnham Market, and only two miles from the highly regarded Holkham Estate and the coastline beyond, Dales Cottage mixes country living with comfort. Lovingly refurbished by the owners, this bolthole retreat is perfect for couples looking to get away from the stresses and fast pace of modern life, whilst taking in the fabulous North Norfolk coast and countryside that surrounds it.
In the summer, make the most of the large enchanting garden where you can enjoy the tranquillity afforded by village life. Alternatively, during the colder months, you may decide to retreat inside after a long day of exploring, so head indoors, light the open fire and cuddle up in the lounge with some fizz, what could be better?
Guests do need to be aware of the height restrictions that exist at Dales Cottage, the entrance into the bathroom is restricted to around five feet so do mind your head! The stairs to the first floor are typical of this style of Norfolk cottage and guests with mobility concerns should be aware that they are steep and winding in style.
Dogs are welcome at Dales Cottage but should be accompanied when in the garden as it is not enclosed.
Living Areas
Entry to the property brings you through the porch where you can kick off your shoes after a long day out before heading into the kitchen/diner.
Step down into the modern kitchen which offers all the required facilities including an oven, hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and a washer/dryer. There is also a rustic dining table seating up to 6 guests.
From the kitchen, head through into the cosy lounge where you can kick back and relax in style. This traditional cottage style lounge still has its original features, including the wooden ceiling beams and the large open fireplace which is available to use. There are also 2 comfy sofas to sink into, a TV, a desk with chair and a variety of books to choose from should you wish to indulge in some reading time.
Bedrooms and Bathroom
Wind your way up the traditional cottage staircase and you will find the two bedrooms and family shower room (just remember to mind your head!).
The master bedroom is light and spacious with a comfy king size bed, large freestanding wardrobe and a separate chest of drawers.
The cosy twin room has 2 single beds and reduced head height; therefore, it is ideal for the younger members of the family.
Also located on the first floor is the family shower room which services both bedrooms. Furnished with a corner shower, WC, hand basin and wall-mounted heated towel rail.
Outside
In the summer the large enchanting garden to the rear of the property really comes into its own, complete with pretty shrubs and fruit bearing trees you can relax and enjoy the peace, quiet and space that you’re afforded. You also have the use of a charcoal BBQ (fuel not provided) so make sure you’ve got plenty of food and drink in the fridge! Please note there is also shared access at the rear of the property for the neighbour to get to their back door.
The gravel driveway to the side of the property is shared with the neighbouring cottage and the one space is used on a first come, first served basis. Further parking is allowed on the road at the front of the property and there are no parking restrictions.
Whilst being dog friendly at Dales Cottage, the garden is not completely enclosed, therefore dogs should be accompanied when in the garden.
