Once the old stables, Grey’s Court is now a generously proportioned barn conversion accommodating up to 10 guests in five en suite bedrooms. Forming part of the Barsham Barns complex, this property has been styled in Scandinavian shades of blue and green to create a calm atmosphere in which to relax. Nestled in the rural village of North Barsham you will find yourself immersed in the Norfolk countryside with an abundance of nature and wildlife right on your doorstep!
Grey’s Court was once the old stables but has been renovated and designed to create a generously proportioned barn conversion to bring families or groups of friends together. Thoughtfully combining modern living with traditional architecture and original features, this property can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 individually designed en suite bedrooms. The accommodation is set mostly on 1 level and offers a large, open kitchen and dining area, separate lounge, generous garden, and is equipped with a selection of outdoor games including Boules and Swingball – this barn is perfect for people of all ages!
With views across the meadows and the Stiffkey River valley, this rural retreat is a haven for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists, and keen ornithologists. Put your boots on or hop on your bike and you can wind your way along the quiet country lanes and explore the neighbouring villages of East Barsham, Houghton St Giles and Little Walsingham. You can also visit the local Barsham Brewery just along the road at West Barsham. Alternatively, jump in your car and within 5 minutes you can be in the market town of Fakenham, or take a 15-minute drive North and you will be on the glorious North Norfolk coast with the sand between your toes and the wind in your hair!
Upon entering Grey’s Court, you are welcomed into the centrally located hallway. Here you will find a storage cupboard for tucking away your coats and shoes. There is also a WC with hand basin.
The architecture of the lounge area shows off the attractive original features of the property with exposed brick work and wooden beams. The large picture window provides countryside views across the meadow to the village church. Furnished with three comfortable sofas, your party can kick back and relax here will watching the TV or your favourite film on DVD. There is also a woodburner available to use in the winter months.
Kitchen & Dining Area
Set two steps down from the lounge area, the kitchen/diner is the perfect place for entertaining while not leaving out the head chef in the group! The dining area is decorated with quirky features including pale blue tongue and groove walls with alcoves which house an eclectic collection of pottery and a Swedish grandfather clock. From this room you can also access both garden areas.
The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you will need during your stay, including a fridge/freezer, built-in double oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, and a ceramic sink.
The spacious dining area has a large traditional wooden table and comfortably seats 10 guests with space for seating up to 14 guests if required.
Just off the kitchen there is a small laundry room with a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
There are 5 individually designed, en suite bedrooms.
Bedroom 1: Set just off the dining area is the twin bedroom. Furnished with 2 full size single beds, free-standing wardrobe with drawers and an en suite with a bath and hand-held shower attachment, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 2: Set five steps down, just below ground level is the spacious king size bedroom with a feature exposed brick wall and a high vaulted ceiling. Furnished with a four-poster bed, built-in wardrobe and shelving and an en suite with a bath and hand-held shower attachment, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 3: This spacious and light bedroom has direct access into the garden and is furnished with a king size bed, dressing table and a built-in wardrobe. This room also has its own en suite with a walk-in shower offering rainfall effect or power shower options, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 4: “The Blue Room” comes complete with a king size bed (which is zip and link so can also be split into two small singles upon request), built-in wardrobe, free-standing chest of drawers and has direct access into the garden. This room also has its own en suite with a walk-in shower offering rainfall effect or power shower options, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 5: This spacious bedroom offers a four-poster king size bed, built-in wardrobe, rocking chair, and an en suite with a walk-in shower offering rainfall effect or power shower options, WC and hand basin.
There are two garden areas located on either side of the barn. To the front side of the barn, there is a hard landscaped, enclosed courtyard with a table and four chairs. To the rear of the barn, there is a larger garden laid to lawn with a concrete patio area providing a table with seating for 10 guests and a charcoal BBQ – perfect for al fresco dining. Please note that this garden area is not secure for dogs.
To the front of the barn there is off-road parking available for 4 cars on the gravel driveway.
