Half Acre House
Brancaster • Sleeps 10 • Dogs welcome
Half Acre House is a luxury self-catering home situated in a quiet, secluded location in the pretty seaside village of Brancaster on the North Norfolk coast. Beautifully positioned in its half acre garden, it is both impressive and imposing and is perfectly placed for families wanting to explore all that this magical corner of Norfolk has to offer.

This grand 1930s self-catering seaside home in Brancaster has been beautifully styled. Exuding a sophistication and peaceful elegance with luxurious and quirky touches throughout, Half Acre House is a rather special property. With a spacious kitchen/dining room with a four oven Aga (plus conventional oven) and wine fridge, a practical utility/boot room, sumptuous sitting room and separate snug (both with wall-mounted plasma TVs and open fires) and relaxing garden room with french doors out into the garden, there’s plenty of room for a family or group of friends to enjoy the property without getting under one another’s feet! Add five lovely bedrooms and three bathrooms and a family self-catering holiday by the seaside has never looked so good!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The large master bedroom has a King size bed and french doors opening onto a roof terrace which overlooks the rear garden. Adjacent is an ensuite with a bath and hand held shower over. Two further double bedrooms (one of which is accessible via the first double bedroom or via a separate spiral staircase from the garden room below) are served by the family bathroom with deep bath and hand held shower attachment. A bunk bedroom which sleeps two has french doors opening onto a small balcony and provides distant views over the garden and surrounding properties towards the marsh and sea. A further downstairs bedroom features twin beds and an ensuite with shower cubicle. In addition there is a cool shower in the downstairs utility room to wash those sandy toes (and paws!) after a day spent sailing or on the beach!
Outside
Half Acre House is situated just off a quiet lane on the North Norfolk coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Should you be able to tear yourself away from the spacious and pretty private gardens, you are just a short walk from the beautiful sandy beach and one of the top golf courses in the country; The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club at Brancaster. Turn left when you walk onto the beach and walk a short distance and you might just be lucky enough to see seals basking in the shallow pools.
Barefoot Relaxation
The house is perfectly equipped for keeping adults and children alike entertained come rain or shine. Head to the beach and beach shack for 99s on gloriously sunny days or enjoy exploring the pretty coastal villages and harbours of this secret corner of Norfolk. A short walk through the village will take you to The Ship pub/restaurant, owned by TV chef Chris Coughborough. During the summer it also serves take-away fish and chips. Little ones will enjoy expending some energy in the garden before running inside for a lively family supper around the farmhouse-style dinner table. Dogs are welcome too, so no need to leave them at home! With The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club so close, there may be an opportunity to book you a lesson with professional golfer Simon Rayner, PGA; just let Barefoot know and we will endeavour to arrange this for you.
