Hunters Cottage is a stylish three bedroom luxury cottage which sits overlooking open countryside in the hamlet of Egmere, once of the Holkham estate and close to the picturesque villages of Wells-next-the-Sea and Walsingham.

This cottage has been cleverly and imaginatively furnished using antique retro finds and statement pieces making this a truly unique and quirky cottage.
With its gorgeous pink exterior and funky interior, plus large enclosed garden, we think you might just fall in love with this little hideaway. Character and charm are in abundance and following a recent refurbishment, it has been completely transformed, providing stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation for six in three bedrooms.
The kitchen/diner has been beautifully styled and you can enjoy early morning breakfast’s at the table with the bi-fold doors open onto the patio area during the warmer months. Alternatively open up the front stable door and enjoy a morning coffee with the papers sitting on the sunny front terrace.
You’ll love the wooden heated floors underfoot, particularly if you’ve been out for a long walk and you want to warm your toes!
On an evening, sink into the comfy sofas or dive into the coffee table books, while you put your feet up with a cup of tea. You also have full use of Netflix.
The children will just adore finding the pretend ‘mousehole’ in the property and the quirky staircase banister than turns ‘climbing the stairs to bed’, a really fun experience! Programme the colour depending on your mood!
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Soft greys, whites and stripped floorboards combine to create a calm and relaxed ambiance upstairs.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms; two king-size bedrooms and one bunk bedroom.
The master suite looks over open countryside and features an en-suite shower room, while the second king-size bedrooms which also boasts open views, has a ‘Jack and Jill’ en-suite shower room which it shares with the bunk bedroom which overlooks the rear garden.
All beds are dressed in the finest bed linens with comfortable mattresses and pillows making your night’s sleep as comfortable as it could possibly be. As with all Barefoot properties, complimentary super-soft fluffy bathrobes and towels are provided too. Let the summer sun wake you from your slumber and start start planning how you will spend your days in this wonderful part of Norfolk.
Additionally there is a downstairs family bathroom, perfect for washing sandy toes after a busy day at the beach.
Outside
Enjoy alfresco suppers on the rear terrace which extends to a large lawned garden behind the outhouse that houses the utility room. At the front of the cottage there is additional seating where you can enjoy the sunshine all day and an enjoy a lazy lunch.
Additionally there is a seperate enclosed grassy garden area that is set up with five-a-side goal, badminton rackets and cricket set, perfect for the children to play in whilst the adults can relax in the knowledge that the area is secure and away from any roads. Please do note, the summerhouse is not included within rentals.
Barefoot relaxation
While the day away with day trips to the sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea with its fabulous beach huts or to Holkham. A visit to Holkham Estate is a must, where you will find restaurants, tea rooms, an open air theatre in the summer and of course the beautiful house. The Wells and Walsingham light railway is also definitely worth a visit being the longest narrow guage steam railway in the world, or board a boat from Morston to Blakeney Point to see the seals and learn about their natural habitat.
Take a leisurely walk or bike ride to the nearby village of Walsingham where you can enjoy a visit to Walsingham Abbey, the fantastic Walsingham Farm Shop, where you can buy your supper and lots more! Order a good Norfolk supper at The Black Lion pub and enjoy a local ale before retreating to your luxury ‘pink’ retreat after hours!. If you are visiting in Spring, a trip to see the snowdrops in the Abbey grounds is a sight to behold. If you fancy getting on your bike and heading in the other direction then ride into Burnham Market where you’ll find a plethora of cafe’s, boutique shops and foodie shops to browse around. If you want to hire bikes during your stay, then just give Barefoot a call and we’ll arrange for them to be delivered to the cottage.
If you’re looking to get all dressed-up for dinner and fancy pushing the boat out, then head over to the fabulous Michelin-starred restaurants in Old Hunstanton or Morston. Fancy a more relaxed dining experience, then head to The Globe, Bang! at the top of Staithe Street or The Crown (owned by celebrity chef Chris Coughborough) in Wells-next-the-Sea.

This well-equipped cottage has an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer dryer (the latter of which is located in the outside utility area).
There is parking for two cars to the rear of the property accessed via a shared drive. Please note that a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children under 14 years old per booking is permitted at this property.
