Lavender Cottage is a beautifully positioned, detached self-catering cottage in the heart of the coastal village of Thornham. Offering an eclectic mix of original features that perfectly compliment the stylish tones throughout, and well-balanced living spaces providing the flexibility that modern life commands. Set behind large gates, this private retreat is well positioned close to the many village amenities and is set opposite the village playing field where you will find a children’s play area, football and cricket pitch as well as tennis courts.
You are also conveniently located within walking distance across the marshes to the peaceful, unspoilt sandy beach. Sandwiched between two nature reserves you will see an abundance of wildlife and rare species in their natural habitats.
Lavender Cottage opens its arms to your four-legged friends, so bring along your dog to enjoy this wonderful Norfolk country retreat and all that surrounds it!
Entry into this stunning property brings you into the utility/boot room where there is plenty of space to store your coats and shoes before heading off to relax in comfort! Here you will also find a large ceramic sink, microwave, washing machine and a ground floor WC.
The well-balanced ground floor living space consists of a large kitchen/diner, a separate dining room/sitting room and a further separate lounge with a cosy wood burning stove.
The kitchen/diner has been beautifully renovated to create a stunning room, perfect for gathering the family together. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need including a large Fisher & Paykel fridge/freezer, a Falcon range cooker, a large ceramic sink, dishwasher, and a Nespresso coffee machine (pods not provided). At the far end of the room there is also a snug area set under large Velux windows with a sofa, TV and a wood burning stove, perfect for enjoying some relaxed reading time or planning your adventures for the day ahead.
The bright and spacious lounge offers ample space for everyone to relax in comfort. Offering a large corner sofa as well as a separate sofa, you can put your feet up in front of the roaring wood burner and enjoy watching an epic movie together on the large TV, which is sneakily located in the wardrobe!
The separate dining room/sitting room is also bright and spacious with a large dining table and chairs providing ample space to comfortably seat 8 guests. There is also 2 comfortable sofas set by the large windows where you can enjoy reading the morning paper while overlooking the lovely garden.
There is also a well-lit reading room at the front of the house offering a relaxing spot over-looking the garden to enjoy some peaceful downtime.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
There are four generous bedrooms set over two floors sleeping 8 people; one on the ground floor and each with their own en suites.
Bedroom 1: Located on the ground floor just off the kitchen/diner. This stylish bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, freestanding wardrobe and separate chest of drawers. There is also an en suite providing a shower, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 2: Located on the first floor at the rear of the property this spacious bedroom has dual aspect windows making it lovely and light. Offering a super king size bed, wardrobe, separate chest of drawers and a luxury four-piece en suite bathroom with a bath, separate walk-in shower, WC, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and even provides glimpses of the sea.
Bedroom 3: Set on the first floor overlooking the front of the property, this room provides ample space for guests and storage. Furnished with a super king size bed (Zip & Link), large built-in wardrobes, chest of drawers and a relaxed seating area with a two-seater sofa. There is also an en suite with a rainfall effect shower, WC and hand basin.
Bedroom 4: Also on the first floor, positioned at the front of the property this light and airy room has stunning views over the garden. Equipped with a super king size bed, large built-in wardrobes, dressing table, and a TV. There is also a small en suite offering a shower, WC, hand basin and a heated towel rail.
The front of the property is enclosed with solid, double gates that offer privacy from the outside world. There is also ample off-road parking on the gravel driveway inside the gates. The front garden is laid to lawn with pretty, well stocked borders and patio seating area. The side garden is hard landscaped to offer a sunny retreat ideal for an afternoon snooze, the rear garden provides a bamboo enveloped seating area ideal for the BBQ on the barmy summer evenings. The retractable washing line is mounted on the side of the house near the purpose-built BBQ area.
Centrally located in the village of Thornham you are spoilt for choice with eateries on your doorstep! You are positioned directly opposite Thornham Deli while also being within walking distance of the award-winning Orange Tree restaurant, The Chequers Inn and The Lifeboat Inn. You are also close to the Drove Orchards complex which offers a stunning mix of eateries, boutiques and tasty treats available all year round.
