Lobster Pot Cottage is simply perfect for sandy holidays on the North Norfolk coast, this bijou retreat is only a short walk from the quay and offers quiet and comfortable accommodation that is both stylish and is in an idyllic location to explore the surrounding countryside. This property welcomes families and is also dog friendly, so your pampered pooch can tag along too!Redecorated in January 2019. Wells-next-the-Sea is one of North Norfolk's larger coastal destinations, offering visitors a wide variety of ways to while away the hours either exploring the vast beach or the town. Formerly a major port for the export of grain, its harbour is now used by smaller craft offering fishing cruises and boat tours.
Living Space and Kitchen
Upon entering Lobster Pot Cottage, you find yourself in the lounge at the front of the building. Here you will have plenty of comfortable seating for your party to gather on and relax after a long day of exploration. The room also provides a TV with NOW TV including Netflix access, a DVD player and has an electric imitation wood-burner.
Rather conveniently, you also have a ‘boot room’ in which you can store your outside clothing.
The open plan kitchen and dining area offers a well-lit and restful space, ideal for a coffee with the morning paper. Included in the inventory, you have the use of a Nutribullet, Tassimo coffee machine (pods not included), in addition to the gas oven, hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
In the kitchen you’ll also find the built-in washer/dryer and a dining table capable of seating 4 hungry guests.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The master bedroom offers a comfy double bed and is decorated in relaxing seaside tones. Ample storage is available for those with large suitcases! The room also has a window overlooking the front of the property, from which you can glimpse the pinewoods lining the edge of Wells beach.
The second bedroom features two small single beds and is perfect for youngsters.
Both bedrooms are found on the 1st floor landing and are only a few steps from the master bathroom. The master bathroom includes a large bath with handheld shower attachment, you also have the use of a separate large shower. Please be aware that the ceiling height in parts of this room is restricted to 5 ft. but the use of the bath and shower is relatively unimpeded. Built-in speakers also service the room, allowing you to create a haven away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Special mention must go to the lovely ceramic floor tiles (a particular favourite!).
Adjacent to the dining table, you have a small set of steps that take you up to, and then out of, the large bifold doors that lead to the enclosed courtyard at the rear of Lobster Pot Cottage. The garden acts as a natural sun trap and is well protected from the sea wind, allowing the opportunity for plenty of use of the garden table and chairs, especially good for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Perhaps even fire up the charcoal BBQ and enjoy those longer summer evenings.
Off-road parking at the front of the property for 1 car, additional roadside parking can be found at the entrance from the main road, with the extra option of the pay and display just a little further up the road.
Wells-next-the-Sea is one of North Norfolk’s larger coastal destinations, offering visitors a wide variety of ways to while away the hours either exploring the vast beach or the town. Formerly a major port for the export of grain, its harbour is now used by smaller craft offering fishing cruises and boat tours. The Albatross, found on the quay, is a relic from grain trading with the continent, possibly the last of the commercial vessels to use sails.
Children love Wells for its many amusements, shops and its beach hut lined sands. Take a mini steam train ride to the beach where the day can be easily filled and it is often a favourite spot for families. If the beach isn’t for your little one, perhaps they would enjoy trying out the local tradition of crabbing off of the quay. The Wells to Holkham Walk is worth a special mention as it takes you through the North Norfolk Area of Natural Beauty.
Several dining highlights await; The Crown and The Globe, both of which are on ‘The Buttlands’, are excellent gastro pubs, whereas for a taste of locally caught seafood you cannot do better than the Wells Crab House Cafe.
