Redshanks
Burnham Deepdale • Sleeps 12 • Dogs welcome • Swimming pool
Blessed with stunning views of the North Norfolk coastline and countryside, Redshanks has been lovingly renovated to offer a refuge for relaxation with stylish design elements and tasteful furnishing. Its rural location provides great views of the surrounding farmland to the East and the sand dunes and Scolt Head Island to the North. Redshanks is a large coastal retreat designed with family get-togethers in mind and is wonderfully placed for exploring all that the Norfolk coastline has to offer. Redshanks also boasts a heated swimming pool available from mid May to mid September.

Kitchen and Dining Room
The kitchen is fully equipped and perfectly appointed for catering for large groups, containing: traditional oil-fired AGA, combination oven, hob, two butler sinks, dishwasher, large fridge (separate under counter drinks fridge), microwave and coffee machine. With access to the front and rear gardens, the utility room and the dining room, you will find this to be the busiest room in the house?.as kitchens tend to be!
The dining room is centrally positioned in the house and contains a large table that can accommodate the whole group perfect for big celebrations. During the day the room is bathed in natural light and offers views of the front and rear gardens. If the weather is with you, you might even open the patio doors and let the sounds of the countryside in.
The utility room can be found at the end of the corridor that leads away from the kitchen. Here you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer and some beach equipment.
Living Room and Snug
Redshanks has two living rooms both with wood-burning stoves and smart TVs (with Blu Ray DVD, Netflix and Sky access). The snug is quiet, cosy spot, perfect for enjoying a book or film in front of the wood-burner. The music room is an old barn conversion; its space, vaulted ceilings and vibrant colour scheme make this room the perfect setting for a noisy gathering over a board game in front of the wood-burner. Whatever suits the moment!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Redshanks has six comfortable bedrooms (over 2 floors) stylishly designed using soft tonal hues, which draw inspiration from the coastal landscape. The combination of the quiet rural location and fresh sea-air create a serene environment, perfect for rest and rejuvenation.
1st floor:
Bedroom 1: master bedroom, decadently spacious with king size bed and en suite bathroom (bath & shower-over). Triple aspect windows offer beautiful views over sand dunes to the North, sunrises over farmland to the East and a mature walled garden to the South. The room also has a large smart TV (Sky & Netflix)
Bedroom 2: king size divan bed with coastal views through a pretty fanlight window.
Bedroom 3: king size divan bed with coastal views over a classically-Norfolk pantiled roof.
Bedroom 4: has twin beds and views to the south over the mature walled garden.
NB. Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are serviced by the family bathroom on the 1st floor landing.
Ground floor:
Bedroom 5: located on the ground floor and has a double bed.
Bedroom 6: also on the ground floor and has twin beds.
NB. Both ground floor rooms are adjacent to a shower room with WC.
Outside
Redshanks has two distinct garden areas, one to the North, another to the South of the property. The brick-and-chalk-walled South garden features a lawn surrounded by plenty of mature flower beds, shrubs and trees (including a walnut tree). With its southerly aspect, it is well protected from the elements and often a perfect sun-trap. There is a patio area with a large dining table and a Weber charcoal BBQ. A great spot for a sun-downer (or two) or al-fresco dining. This superb outside area will also benefit from a heated (to 22 degrees) outdoor 5 x 9m swimming pool from middle of May – middle of September, what more could you ask for?
The front, North garden is less structured and more rugged in its appearance and is left to nature for most of the year; the grass is left to grow a little longer creating an interesting habitat for local wildlife and a more pastoral inclination. Help yourself to fruits from the pear and apple trees in autumn, and see if you can identify the Sea Lavender and Sea Fennel plants.
Off-road parking for up to four cars on the gravel drive to the side of Redshanks. Please use the access from Whiteway Road for unloading your luggage.
Location
A key destination for any visit to the North Norfolk coast and one of the Seven Burnhams, Burnham Deepdale and the Brancasters are popular stop-offs for people looking to enjoy a taste of the Norfolk coast. Both villages have been formed around the ‘coast road’ (A149) and can easily be explored by walking the many pathways that link them.
You will find excellent places to eat, offering locally caught produce from the harbour at Brancaster Staithe; mussels and oysters are real local delicacies as is samphire which contains more iron than spinach! Brancaster also offers one of the UK’s most challenging links courses, the Royal West Norfolk. The adjacent beach features spectacular wildlife including seals, waders, skylarks and the odd passing hobby.
For those looking to explore the surrounding seas and creaks, boats and canoes can be hired from Brancaster Staithe harbour. For the uninitiated, why not begin your sailing with some training with the local experts. Historic Holkham with its famous unspoilt beach, Burnham Market and its boutique shopping and Wells-next-the-Sea with its beach huts are all only a short drive away too!
