Spicer’s on the Buttlands is a fabulous self-catering holiday house set on the attractive, sought after, leafy Georgian “Buttlands” in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea. Here, you are perfectly positioned to explore all that Wells has to offer as well as the wider North Norfolk Coast. You are located just a stone’s throw from the delightful The Globe Inn and just a short walk down the high street to the famous Quayside where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants and amusements. This is the perfect retreat for a fun family holiday or groups of couples that are celebrating special occasions!
Sleeping up to eight guests, Spicer’s on the Buttlands offers four charming, spacious bedrooms, all of which have their own en suites, a large and well-equipped kitchen and dining room – perfect for family meals together – with access onto the private courtyard garden at the rear of the property. There is also a relaxing sitting room with a cosy wood burning stove, a separate games room including table football, a separate utility/boot room and a ground floor WC.
Centrally located in the popular seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea you are closely located to all the necessary amenities within the town, and with plenty of activities right on your doorstep, there is something to keep everyone entertained! Take a stroll down the high street lined with independent boutiques and shops and you will find the picturesque quay which is lined with amusements and eateries including fine restaurants, ice cream parlours, a sweet shop and the infamous fish and chip shops. Don’t forget to check out probably the most famous part of Wells – the stunning sandy beach that is lined with shady pinewoods, sand dunes and colourful stilted beach huts – it really must not be missed!
Entry into the front of the property brings you into the long entrance hall with its traditional pamment tiled floor that weaves its way through the property.
The sitting room is classically designed with two large sofas as well as a vintage armchair all centred around the cosy wood burning stove and the Smart TV, perfect for logging in your Netflix account, putting your feet up and chilling out!
Opposite the sitting room, there is a games room which has been smartly furnished with a sofa, two tub chairs, a Smart TV, DVD player and a table football table, providing the perfect base for the children (and big kids!) within the group.
Wind your way along the hallway and you will find the spacious kitchen and dining room positioned at the rear of the house. This is the ideal space for your party to enjoy mealtimes together.
The kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need and more, including a large cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and a Tassimo coffee machine (pods not included).
The dining area consists of a large table and chairs comfortably seating up to 8 guests. From here there is also a door that leads out into the rear courtyard.
There is also a separate utility/boot room where you will find a ceramic butler sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. You can also access the rear courtyard from here, which is ideal for when you come home after a day on the beach so that you can store your sandy shoes!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Spicer’s on the Buttlands features four charming first floor bedrooms, each offering ample space in which to relax as well as having their own en suites.
Bedroom 1: This very spacious bedroom overlooks the rear of the property and offers a king-size bed, freestanding wardrobe, separate chest of drawers, an ottoman storage chest and even a sofa for relaxing on and enjoying some quiet reading time. The en suite provides a bath with a rainfall shower over as well as a separate hand-held shower attachment, hand basin, WC and a heated towel radiator. Please note that this bedroom accommodates the stairgate on the door and has the relevant fixings on the door frame. The stairgate cannot be fitted to the stairs
Bedroom 2: The twin bedroom also overlooks the rear of the property and offers two single beds, a wardrobe, separate chest of drawers and an armchair. There is an en suite shower room with a rainfall effect corner shower, hand basin, WC and a heated towel radiator.
Bedroom 3: Set at the front of the property overlooking The Buttlands is this delightful king size bedroom furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two armchairs offering relaxed seating. The en suite features a walk-in rainfall effect shower, WC, hand basin and a heated towel radiator.
Bedroom 4: This sophisticated bedroom is also set at the front of the property and offers views over the pretty Buttlands. Furnished with a super king-size bed, which can also be separated into twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and two armchairs offering relaxed seating. The en suite provides a bath with a rainfall effect shower over, hand basin, WC and a heated towel rail.
There is also a separate ground floor WC.
At the rear of the property, there is a lovely enclosed courtyard providing a private sanctuary in which to relax with a nice chilled glass of prosecco! There is a large table and chairs offering al fresco dining as well as a wooden swing chair.
There is 1 off-road parking space located at the rear of the property in front of the garage doors. Further parking is available roadside at the front of the property around The Buttlands where there are no restrictions.
