Set into the hillside (yes, we do have some hills in Norfolk!) in gorgeous farmland between Burnham Market and Brancaster, The Pheasantry is a traditional period property that has been sympathetically renovated and modernised while managing the retain many of the original features, including the wooden and tiled floors, antique brass dolly light switches, original wood doors and framing.
This secluded cottage is perfect for couples, groups of friends or families looking for a private retreat while still being close to all the action. Just a 5-minute drive to the bustling village of Burnham Market where you will find a selection of over 30 independent shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, providing all the necessities of everyday life. Alternatively, head north and you will be in the coastal village of Brancaster with the expansive sandy beach where you can feel the wind in your hair and the sand between your toes!
Utility/Laundry Room
Upon entering The Pheasantry you are initially welcomed into the spacious entrance hall where you can store your coats and shoes before heading on through the property.
The utility room is set just off the entrance hall and caters for all your laundry needs with a washing machine, tumble dryer, ceramic belfast sink, and an iron and ironing board. There is also a dishwasher here and a stable door providing direct access to the rear garden. Adjoining the utility room is a ground floor WC.
Kitchen
The traditional cottage kitchen is full of charming original features including pamment tiled floor, exposed brickwork, original wooden framing, and 2 AGA’s. In the warmer months due to the excessive heat, only the electric “Summer AGA” is available with 2 oven drawers and an electric hob. There is also a ceramic butler sink, large fridge freezer, pantry cupboard, and table and chairs perfect as an informal breakfast area.
Lounge
Adjoining the kitchen is the cosy lounge, furnished with 2 comfy sofas and a leather armchair focused around the original brick fireplace with wood burning stove. This room really comes into its own in the cooler months when the wood burning stove is roaring away and you have returned from a brisk walk in the elements! In this room there is also a variety of board games and puzzles available for your use, and a quirky feature is the hidden TV that can be brought out when you want to watch your favourite shows on Now TV, or keep it tucked away and enjoy some quality time together.
Garden Room
The bright and airy garden room has a high apex ceiling and large windows offering dual aspect views of the surrounding garden. This room works equally well as a formal dining area for up to 6 guests or as a quiet place to relax on the corner sofa and enjoy the peace and tranquillity that this property affords.
