The Triumphal Arch

Wells next the Sea • Sleeps 2 • Dogs welcome

A truly unique and romantic retreat, The Triumphal Arch is an 18th century grade I listed building, designed by the renowned architect, William Kent. Initially built to impress travellers passing through on their way to the nearby North Norfolk coast, it rears its head at the top of the south avenue that leads to the Obelisk and Holkham Hall beyond. Set just outside the walls of Holkham Park it is hard to think of a more memorable combination of property and location.

"We came here to celebrate our first-year anniversary, having married in the hall last September. Such a beautiful property with beautiful views and lovely company (my husband and the sheep). Definitely recommend eating and drinking outside on the beach, walks to the hall, the lookout by the beach, the Victoria, the food festival (first weekend of September each year), Brancaster beach and the seals at Titchwell from Blakeney to Cley and back. Thanks to Holkham and the Barefoot team, we will be back EVERY YEAR."
