Share

October half term North Norfolk BeWILDerwood pumpkin picking beach Roarr adventure attractions
Between the autumnal beach strolls, delicious pub lunches and chilled evenings warming by the firepit beneath the famous star-studded Norfolk skies here are some of our favourite family attractions to visit this October half term.

The Pumpkin House

Thursford

What could be more traditional in October than picking a huge pumpkin to carve? Nestled away in the Norfolk countryside, not far from the coast is The Pumpkin House – a popular family run attraction. Set within a working farm, The Pumpkin House is a wooden structure decorated with over 1,000 carved wooden pumpkins and flanked by farmland. Gather the whole family and spend the morning picking your very own pumpkins, getting lost in the maze, climbing hay bale towers, before warming up with hot chocolate while the children dig for treasure in the tractor sand pits.

The Assembly House

Norwich

Afternoon tea is a quintessential British pastime and Norfolk has some of the best offerings to rival that of The Ritz in London! For a themed afternoon tea nowhere does it quite like the Assembly House.  A stunning red brick Georgian build in the very heart of Norwich where the grandeur of the interiors adds a touch of theatrics to your experience.  Their seasonal themed teas are award winning, submerse yourself in the magic and if you’re not sweet toothed, try their ‘Afternoon cheese’!  Booking is a must and don’t forget to check out their website for their current themed teas.

Church Farm PYO Pumpkins

Heacham

Back for it’s second year, Church Farm PYO Pumpkins is the perfect way to spend a crisp October afternoon (or morning!). Don your wellies and whoolly hats and discover a giant patch of pumpkins to pick – from the classic orange – smooth and round, to the mini, warty, white and green squashes and not forgetting their popular pink Barbie inspired varieties! Admire your haul over a proper hot chocolate and a wedge of homemade cake from The Nest, a bespoke horse box cafe. Don’t forget to clear space on your phone for some great photo opportunities and smile on as the kids tackle the mini maze.
