A Brief History of Old Hunstanton
Here lies a history unlike anywhere else in North Norfolk. A prehistoric past that dates back to 1500BC when Old Hunstanton was a Neolithic settlement. And yet this is just the origin story of a place packed full of tales, from swashbuckling pirates and daring smugglers to historical architecture that tells a story: the ruins of St Edmund’s Chapel that dates back to 1272, a lighthouse that was first established in 1666 and multi-hued cliffs that are rich in the most astoundingly old fossils.
