Discover Norfolk
Docking
Friendly, relaxing and ever-so peaceful, Docking is a quaint village just a handful of miles from the saltmarshes, dunes and sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast.
Local Features
Surrounded by rolling hills, checkered fields and endless skies, Docking is a place filled with delicious local fare, friendly folk and a duck pond that has been taken straight out of the pages of a Beatrix Potter.
Explore the expanse of golden fields at sunrise, pop into Burnham Market for a mug of freshly ground coffee, watch the tides change Overy Staithe before your very eyes and then head back to The Duck Inn for a long lunch of good food and fine wine before embracing the privacy and serenity of life in coastal paradise.
The History of Docking
Docking has a history unlike any other. Rare in places, mysterious in others and signs that it was a celebrated place centuries ago, this quaint English village hints at a past that covers the Stone Ages and Bronze Ages, Roman rule and early Middle Ages, right the way through to its place in World War II, when it was used as a satellite airfield of RAF Coastal Command. It might just be the perfect place to unleash a metal detector.
