The History of Stanhoe
Stanhoe is a village steeped in history. Twelve-hundred years of it. Originally a Saxon settlement known as Stony Hill, the sands of time have transformed this little country village throughout its past, one that has conjured up mesolithic flint tools, Roman artefacts and coins left by The Danes. Yet one thing seems to bind the centuries of history found in this little patch of Norfolk: its role as a farming community that lies barely a few miles south of Burnham Market.
