Discover Norfolk

Morston

Tucked away on the windiest part of the spine-tingling coastal road is Morston, a once-upon-a-time fishing village that might just be the last bastion of North Norfolk’s wildness and authenticity.

Local Features

Boasting a truly dramatic coastline that undulates below the huge skies, Morston is a place perfect for the wild at heart.

From the samphire-packed salt marshes to the three-hundred-plus sailing boats that are moored in the picturesque harbour, the real pub-pubs full of friendly folk and award-wining dining experiences, to the seals that have turned Blakeney Point their very own paradise, Morston is the ultimate destination for doorstep adventures. Young, old, elderly or somewhere in between, your core memories will be updated after staying here.

The History of Morston

Once an important seaport some 400 years ago, Morston has remained true to its Domesday Book name of Merstona; a term that means “marsh settlement” for that is exactly what it is.

A locally-adored village overlooking the ancient salt marshes and creakes filled with fishing boats, tenders and dinghies where winding paths allow you to explore this divine stretch of coastline, each one filled with its own unique moments, most of which haven’t changed for centuries.
