Introduction

Sunrise walks to the artisan bakery to enjoy fresh croissants and coffee, catching up on the morning papers in the suntrap garden. Spend the day on the nearby beach, devour long lunches at one of the many wonderful pubs along the coast, all followed by a evening lounging in front of Goosebec's roaring fire. This beautiful Grade II listed property overlooks the green in chic Burnham Market. Once a saddlery and later a post office, this house is brimming with character and charm. With parking for two cars at the rear and a pretty courtyard garden, this self-catering holiday home is located in a prime position in the centre of Norfolk's loveliest village, only a five minute drive to the coast and less than 100 yards from the renowned Hoste Arms and Burnham Market's fabulous boutique shops and eateries.

Experience the best of Norfolk heritage in this enchanting and historical luxury self-catering cottage which boasts many beautiful original features, wooden floorboards, inglenook fireplace and characterful beamed ceilings. Oozing with traditional charm, Goosebec provides luxurious modern living in a beautiful location and has been tenderly restored by the owners to reinstate its Norfolk cottage charm with a contemporary twist.

Outside

The fully-enclosed paved courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage provides a peaceful haven where you can chill out, relax and bask in the sunshine, whilst getting lost in a great book, or alfresco supper with all the family. ​To the front there is a small paved area with pretty flower borders, but you can also enjoy sitting on the village green which is immediately in front of the property. The narrow road in front only services Burnham Westgate Hall. Through the back gate is your private parking area, for 2 parking cars. which is accessed via a gravel driveway, running alongside the property. Tesla Car Charging is available at Goosebec, by prior arrangement with the Barefoot Reservations team and an additional charge may apply.

On a Monday morning during the summer months, the village holds a local auction on this green, which is tremendous fun to watch and participate in!

Living Area and Kitchen

Goosebec has a spacious ground floor with open plan kitchen/dining area which features french doors opening out onto the sun-drenched courtyard. - perfect for the alfresco suppers, BBQs or just to enjoy the long Summer evenings with friends! Through to the front of the property is a large lounge, overlooking the village green, which provides the perfect backdrop to any cosy evening in, especially during the Winter months when you can hunker down in front of the roaring woodburner. This luxury self-catering cottage is well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine and its own larder - what more could you ask for?

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Goosebec boasts three beautiful bedrooms; two King bedrooms and a single bedroom. All have built-in wardrobes. The master bedroom benefits from a lovely en suite shower room and the two remaining bedrooms are serviced by the first floor family bathroom, featuring a separate bath and corner shower.

From both King bedrooms you can enjoy lovely views across the village green towards the church. But with such comfortable beds you will also enjoy being tucked up with the shutters shut, hidden away from the world!

If you’re an earlier riser, pop to the local deli; Humble Pie on a morning to buy croissants and provisions for breakfast and watch the village wake-up from its slumber in the early morning sunlight.
