Introduction

Leo has the perfect blend of modern luxury, fantastic location and award-winning design. By the sensitive use of materials native to North Norfolk, the true authenticity of Leo shines and will be enjoyed by people of all tastes and ages. From your moment of arrival, you and your guests will not fail to be impressed by its spacious, airy rooms that have been dressed thoughtfully, the enclosed garden with off-road parking, and the quiet location that is within a five minute drive of the coast. Just down the road, you also have The Duck Inn, a great pub/restaurant that offers delicious food and local ales.

Inside

Combining rustic charm, cool design and modern living, Leo champions all that Norfolk is about. From the exposed stone walls to the patchwork fields all around, and a whole host of quirks, colour and charm in between.

Outside

Leo is surrounded by garden and offers a safe, enclosed area where families are able to easily relax. By the front garden you have generous off-road parking for 3 cars. While this area is directly by a quiet B road, the area can be gated off and secured. The front garden also has a grassed area that sees the sun through the entire day in the Spring through to Autumn (weather permitting!).

As you move towards the back garden, you move past the interesting planting scheme that runs throughout. Here you will see shrub roses, aloe, grasses, rosemary, backed with beach and coniferous hedges.

The back garden offers a more open area where you’ll find outdoor furniture for dining and a large, enclosed lawn. For parents, the enclosed nature of the lawn will give cause for comfort. From the outdoor table and chairs, it is only a short walk before you reach the bi-fold doors that lead you back in the lounge.

Please do note, the adjacent property does currently have on going building works which are due to be completely by the end of November 2024.

Room Descriptions

Lounge and Dining Room

As the hub of the house, the open plan lounge and dining room is a fabulously diverse space in which to entertain, dine or just relax. With a slightly raised ceiling and abundant natural light filling the room during the day, the comfort and pleasure that it offers cannot be overstated.

The lounge area features three large, double sofas, widescreen TV with Humax Freetime and Blu-ray player, several bookshelves of eclectically themed books and a writing table. The room also has a stunning feature wood burner. The main hub for the Sonos is also located by the TV.

The adjacent dining area has seating for eight and you are able to open up the nearby bi-fold doors that lead to the garden and outside seating. The generous windows also make breakfast here a true pleasure, you can often end up spending longer than you realise watching the local buzzards in the trees, just beyond the end of the garden, or the bees and butterflies enjoying the lavender.

Kitchen

This is a room in which the ethos of the owners is displayed at its most clear. By restoring and protecting the original chalk walls, they have been able to continue this theme and create a unique kitchen where you will lack for nothing. Aspiring chefs will enjoy the excellent range cooker with induction hob, the ample worktop space and integrated appliances. There is even a lovely little bistro table with bench seats to enjoy the view of the front garden from. Upon walking into this room, you know that you are in Norfolk!

Just down the hallway, you’ll also find a convenient utility room where you’ll find a washer/dryer and butler sink. The room also has a WC, hand basin and walk-in shower.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Three tranquil bedrooms await, all of which are on the 1st floor and offer views of the countryside.

Bedroom one offers a super king bed, ample storage and views of the front and back gardens. The design of the room also has a continuation of the traditional chalk walls and a raised ceiling that gives the space an uncluttered feel. The room is also serviced by an en-suite shower room, WC and basin.

Bedroom two features a double bed, plenty of hanging space and storage, with views of the back garden and the pasture beyond.

Bedroom three has a king bed, ample storage and views of the front garden. In the corner, there is also a day bed that is really handy for reading the bedtime story on or for the occasional power nap. Please do note, this room has access to the owners private room, via a ladder, access to this is restricted.

Bedrooms two and three have the use of the master bathroom, found only a few feet away on the landing. It is here that a long soak in the bath can be looked forward too, a world away from work or the pressures of everyday life.

Staying at
Leo

Quick guide to your location

Stanhoe is an attractive village that is only a five minute drive from the popular villages of Burnham Market, Brancaster, Holkham, Titchwell and Thornham. The busier towns of Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea are within 15 minutes, to the east and the west respectively. The village also has a great many walks that can be enjoyed in and around Stanhoe, with much of the village bordered by countryside and farmland. The Duck Inn is a favourite spot for local foodies and you need only pull on a pair of shoes to get there. Special mention goes to their excellent Sunday lunch!

We absolutely loved Leo. It was beautiful, spacious and super well equipped. The garden is an absolute joy and so quiet. This is the second time I have stayed at a Barefoot Retreats property and have recommended you to all of my friends. The lovely touches like robes, slippers and the welcome basket are such a treat. We can't wait to come back.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. It's like a Scandinavian retreat right in the middle of Norfolk. A restful place indeed, but also a fantastic base for touring the area on wheels. We will never forget our time here!

'We've enjoyed a very relaxing week in Norfolk, a real pleasure to stay in such a beautiful house. We loved the architecture, mixing the original house features with the contemporary modern extension. This has been a perfect place to stay in order to explore and also revisit old haunts. We found peace and solitude in remote spots along the North Norfolk coastline. Eating out at The Duck Inn in Stanhoe is a must.'
