A Brief History of Fring
Steeped in history and surrounded by centuries of estate land, Fring is a place where Norfolk’s past feels wonderfully present. The village itself dates back to Anglo-Saxon times and was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, while the Fring Estate has shaped the landscape for generations. At its heart stands Fring Hall, originally built in the early 1800s and faithfully rebuilt following a devastating fire in the 1930s, preserving its elegant character for future generations. Today, the estate’s woodland, parkland and historic buildings create a timeless setting, offering visitors the chance to experience a quieter, more authentic side of North Norfolk.
