Introduction

Tucked away in the popular seaside village of Brancaster Staithe, Skylark is an ideal holiday retreat for groups of family or friends. With exacting detail, the owners have created a wonderfully unique house that will surprise and delight in equal measure. The superb open plan space of the kitchen and dining area can easily be combined, by the use of the large bi-fold doors, with the enclosed garden, where you’ll find further seating areas and fire pit. A great find!

Inside

Inside this warm and welcoming home away from home you will find a lovely light and well-designed space that is perfect for family getaways. The bright and spacious open plan living area is great for socialising all together. Alternatively, you can separate off to the lounge for some “Netflix and chill” time, or some gaming on the PS4. There is also a games room where the kids (and big kids!) will be kept amused with the multi-games table that offers Pool, Table Tennis or Air Hockey. The four generous bedrooms offer a good variety of spaces in which to accommodate people of all ages, perfect for a family holiday by the sea!

Outside

The enclosed rear garden will see a great deal of use from most of you that choose to stay at Skylark. With the thoughtfully designed lowered seating area and fire pit, coupled with the rattan dining furniture and gas BBQ, groups have plenty of flexibility in how they enjoy the space. The added bonus of the aforementioned bi-fold doors also brings the outside and in, and visa versa. A trip to the fridge will only ever be a short walk!

The area has been planted with herbaceous borders that will attract wildlife and give colour and fragrance though different times of the year. You may even be able to fetch a walnut straight from the tree.

Being on quiet Town Lane, you will see very little traffic going past the property. It does also have off-road parking at the front of the house for up to three cars.

Room Descriptions

Lounge

For those looking to lounge, the snug at the front of the property will be their first port-of-call. With a comfortable corner sofa and its calm tones, the room is perfect for relaxing in front of the large TV and PS4 (games not included), or for having a quiet read. Parents will also immediately see the room as a great place for the kids to unwind after a busy day on the beach, while the parents also take a breath on the seating offered in the kitchen.

Living Area

The lounge area that forms part of the larger kitchen and dining area, is a fabulous space to enjoy pre- (or post) dinner drinks. Especially lovely in the cooler months, is the addition of a modern wood burner. What can be better than a glass of red by the fire after bearing witness to the stunning autumnal skies that you get in Norfolk during the colder months?

The dining table seats eight people with ease and is often used in conjunction with the 2nd lounge and its wood burner. Chef will never be too far away either, meaning that no one will be left out. The table is also bordered on two sides by yet more bi-fold doors which demand to be opened on those musky summer evenings.

Being the hub of the house, the kitchen will not disappoint. Being accessible from the garden, lounge and dining area encourages groups to stay close together, while still allowing people to enjoy their individual pursuits.

The kitchen is a dream for anyone choosing to cook, with the very latest Indeset induction hob, cooker, grill and microwave oven being the main tools of choice. Further to this, you also have dishwasher, Nespresso machine and two large fridges with separate freezers. When coupled with the generous marble worktop, this really is catering made easy.

Aside from the equipment, the kitchen is fully stocked with ample utensils, crockery and cutlery.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Four bedrooms await, one on the ground floor and a further three on the first floor. All have been designed to be exceptionally comfortable and each features its own interesting design flourishes.

Bedroom one is considered the master and it has a king size bed, plenty of storage and hanging space. The velux window and large, circular feature window give the room ample natural light.
Bedroom two offers a king size bed, excellent storage and a Juiliette balcony that overlooks the rear garden. The room is also serviced by an en suite shower room with WC and hand basin.
Bedroom three is ideal for the children. With its bunk beds, the only arguments here will be ‘who gets the top bunk’!
Bedroom four has a set of adult twin beds.
On the first floor landing, the master bathroom has a good sized bath with shower over, WC, hand basin and heated towel rail.

Staying at
Skylark

Quick guide to your location

Being almost opposite Harbour Way, guests at Skylark will be delighted to have such quick access to the coastal path, the harbour, with its fleet of sailing boats, and the beaches of Brancaster and Burnham Overy Staithe to the east and the west.

A key destination for any visit to the North Norfolk coast, the Brancasters offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for all ages. Both villages have been formed around the ‘coast road’ (A149) and can easily be explored by walking the pathways that link the two together. You will find excellent places to eat, offering locally caught produce from the harbour at Brancaster Staithe, mussels and oysters are real local delicacies but a special mention goes to samphire which can only be found in Norfolk (and contains more iron than spinach!). To the east, The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors are both within a 10 minute walk, with The Ship being a thirty minute walk to the west.

Brancaster also offers one of the UK’s most challenging links courses, the Royal West Norfolk. The adjacent beach features spectacular wildlife including seals, waders, skylarks and the odd passing hobby. For those looking to explore the surrounding seas and creeks, boats and canoes can be hired from Brancaster Staithe harbour. For the uninitiated, why not begin your sailing with some expert training with the local experts.

Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. We have had such a great time. It is a shame that the weather didn't allow us to spend time walking on the beach but that means we can visit again! Thank you again, your home is amazing.
