West Barn A is anything but ordinary. Behind its doors you’ll find a joyful mix of colour, character and wonderfully eclectic finds, many gathered from the owner’s own collection. Every corner has something to catch your eye, giving this little North Creake hideaway a personality all of its own. It’s playful, inviting and made for two – somewhere to arrive, switch off and very quickly slip into holiday mode.

Inside

Come winter, get the log burner roaring, pour something lovely and curl up together on the sofa while the Norfolk weather does its thing outside. When summer arrives, throw open the doors and let the sunshine in, drifting between the cottage and garden as breakfast turns into lunch and thoughts turn to where the day might take you.

With Burnham Market and the North Norfolk coast within easy reach, days can be filled with beach walks, pub lunches and adventures along the coast - although West Barn A makes staying put rather tempting too.

Travelling with friends? West Barn B is right next door, so book the two together and make a holiday of it.

Outside

The enclosed, south-facing garden is a little suntrap, with pretty planted beds, a patio and a tucked-away deck where you can find your own quiet corner. Start the day with coffee in the sunshine, come home sandy-footed from the beach, then light the candles, open a bottle of something chilled and settle in for supper beneath the Norfolk sky.

There’s also off-road parking at the front of the cottage.

West Barn is very well-equipped throughout with modern integrated kitchen that flows into the open plan dining and lounge spaces. Furthermore, by opening the bi-fold doors you can open up the rear of the house to allow the outside in, a fantastic feature in the summer.

West Barn A has one fabulous master bedroom with super king bed, beautifully staged with luxury furnishings. The room has an abundance of character and provides couples with a romantic backdrop to relax and kick-back. The magnificent bathroom features a walk-in shower and large free-standing bath.

Quick guide to your location

Tucked into the rolling North Norfolk countryside, North Creake is a characterful village with a wonderfully rural feel, yet some of the coast’s best-loved spots are never far away. Country lanes lead through open fields and big Norfolk skies, while Burnham Market, Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are all within easy reach.

At Creake Abbey (just over a mile away), explore the atmospheric abbey ruins before browsing the independent shops, stopping for coffee or filling your basket with local produce at the popular farmers’ market. Back in the village, The Jolly Farmers is just the place for a pint, supper or Sunday lunch. Nearby Barsham Brewery is another local favourite, brewing its beers with Norfolk-grown barley and hosting events throughout the year, when street food, live music and a freshly poured pint make a pretty good combination.

For holiday essentials and a bigger food shop, Fakenham is within easy reach, with supermarkets and plenty of everyday amenities. When the sea calls, head north to the vast sands of Holkham Beach, wander the harbour at Wells-next-the-Sea, or spend an afternoon dipping in and out of the shops and cafés of nearby Burnham Market. For a North Norfolk holiday that brings together coast, countryside and plenty of good food along the way, North Creake is rather hard to resist.

We have stayed at a Barefoot Retreats cottage previously so we knew it would be a high standard, and it was. We appreciated the box of treats, milk and wine too. Great location for exploring this part of Norfolk.

Thanks for such a wonderful stay, it was perfect, for the two of us and our 5 month old puppy. We ate breakfast lots of mornings on the decking which was so chilled! Great place and beautiful beaches to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Fabulous accomodation and a great location for exploring all that this wonderful part of Norfolk has to offer. We have had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay - thank you! The barn is fabulous and well provisioned with tech and equipment - very nice. The Super King is an extremely comfortable bed and the bathroom is a great size. All in all Barn 35A is an excellent choice and very comfortable.
